In a letter dated 16 of August, Concerned citizens organization wrote to DR. JUMA MUKHWANA, CBS PRINCIPAL SECRETARY FOR THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRY IN THE MINISTRY OF INVESTMENTS, TRADE, AND INDUSTRY, EACC and MRS. ESTHER NGARI MANAGING DIRECTOR & COUNCIL SECRETARY KENYA BUREAU OF STANDARDS Concerning mysterious contract extension of two Directors of KEBS.
Letter read;
“INVESTIGATE HOW CONTRACTS OF KENYA BUREAU OF STANDARDS DIRECTORS MR. ADAN MOHAMED OF FINANCE AND STRATEGY, AND DR. HENRY ROTICH OF METROLOGY AND TESTING WERE EXTENDED BY THE BOARD
I am pressed to write this letter on the above mentioned subject matter in order for your office to truthfully and conscientiously carry out its fiduciary duty to investigate how contracts of Kenya Bureau of Standards Directors Mr. Adan Mohamed of finance and strategy, and Dr. Henry Rotich of meteorology and testing were extended by the board.
It has come to our attention that the contracts of Mr. Adan Mohamed of finance and strategy, and Dr. Rotich of meteorology were illegally extended by the board after their contracts expired.
Therefore In order to enhance the protection of legal frameworks on corruption in Kenya which include;
•The Constitution of Kenya 2010
•Leadership and Integrity Act
•Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act
•Public Officers Ethics Act
•Bribery Act
I do hereby request your office to comprehensively investigate how contracts of Mr. Adan Mohamed of Finance and Strategy, and Dr. Henry Rotich of Metrology and Testing were illegally extended by the board after their contracts expired
It is my respectful submission that you have a fiduciary duty to investigate the matter that 1 have brought into your attention.
It is your duty to investigate any corrupt deal either brought to your attention by any citizen regardless of his or her position in the society or those which comes to your knowledge independently.
Consequently as citizen who upholds the rule of law, I therefore humbly request your highly esteemed office to move with speed and investigate the matter.
Please treat this letter with the highest level of seriousness and urgency”
Mr. Aden Mohammed holds a dual citizenship as evident in the passports attached herein
Under Article 78 of Kenya on Citizenship and Leadership; A State officer or a member of the defence forces shall not hold dual citizenship. However, Mr. Adan Mohammed managed to. How? Your answer is as good as mine.
